We were awarded a Gold award In Japan November 2019 for our Project Postcards From The Edge. Based upon this success I was asked to co-run one of two projects this year.

MSM Writers leading a global writing project with the Asia-Europe Foundation: Meet the participants

Mt St Michael's College and the Asia-Europe Foundation are partnering with fifteen schools from twelve Asian and European countries , to build a supportive global writing community for young writers.

The aim is to provide a place to share the joy of their own writing that does not get judged through a curriculum driven lens. Writing for pleasure is key and it is a challenge by choice.

Participants have used Flipgrid to introduce themselves, respond to one another and present their writing, and in the process are learning to recognise cultural indicators that distinguish them, as well as share the similarities that exist. You can follow the project by clicking on the link below. You can also hear some of their contributions by clicking on the Flipgrid Mixed Tapes below.

Visit the project and check in for updates.

Part of being a part opf a global project is understanding time and place

We have six clocks in total, to help us understand global time zones. It brings our participants closer somehow.

The distances may be great between us but thanks to the internet and a little imagination, it feels inconsequential.

And for the teachers at least, Facebook allows us connection. Schools seem to love their small gifts from Mt St Michael's College Writers Club.

On August 10th Some of the Writers Club will be fund raising and writing for the Kid's Cancer Project. Keep your eyes peeled to see the outcomes. We are looking forward to a fabulous day of creative collaboration.
