I travelled to Melbourne for the Adobe Educator's Conference where I ran an hour and half workshop aligning Adobe Express with the ACARA V9 Digital Literacy General Capability, presented a ten-minute Creative Catalyst Talk, and sat on the panel for Curly Questions where we explored generative AI in education. You can see more by visiting Dr Tim Kitchen's Page. You will find the plenary talks and resources there as well as my presentations.
More videos will be added in time.
April 2024 saw me return to the classroom after a corporate restructuring. Since April, I have been working on a .6 contract with St Ritas College, reconnecting with my Adobe Creative Educator Innovator, Google Innovator, and Microsoft Innovative Educator communities.
My (almost) two years with Datacom were a wonderful opportunity to work with teachers around Australia, keynote at WATSSA and conduct deep research, create resources, and deep dive into ACARA V9 and AITSL to formulate ways that might enhance teachers' adoption and leveraging of technology in the classroom so that both they and their students might develop their transferable skills and digital literacy. I worked with Lora Blackman and the indomitable Claire Furlong and produced work of which I am very proud.
Teaching in a time of rapid change and work intensification means that we are often left drowning in a sea of others' expectations. My aim with this site is to present complete learning experiences that encourage both teachers and students to leverage effective learning tools. The materials here are not simply replacing textbooks with digital texts, they include creative and in some cases, self-marking resources, to try and lighten the load.
I am an Adobe Education Leader and the Asia Pacific Adobe Master Teacher. I use Adobe Creative Cloud Express (formerly known as Adobe Spark) as a vehicle for many of my activities because it is versatile and allows for both teachers and students to create highly professional-looking products that they care about. Adobe Spark also teaches and reinforces the concept of responsible digital citizenry where the acknowledgment of sources is established. Creative Commons images and music as well as the opportunity to use personally captured images and created music, support best practices but in all cases where images are sourced elsewhere, they are acknowledged in the captions and credits. You will find my contributions to Adobe Inject Creativity broadcasts by following this link. Two years ago I also began to explore the affordances of Google Workspace and have found many tools that prove highly effective and equally as intuitive as the Adobe Creative Cloud Express tools. I am a Google Certified Educator, Google Innovator, and Google Trainer and enjoy the versatility of Google for Education Workspace. Having said that, I use Microsoft Teams and most of its affordances as well.
Helping students find their creativity, their authorial voice, and facilitating their development in soft skills and the affective domain is an essential driving force and motivation in my teaching and co-curricular commitment. Writers' Club is one place where students explore their imaginations in a collaborative and supportive environment. You can see some of our work by clicking the link.
Some tools I use and am learning to use which help me create engaging resources are:

Coompleted and celebrated with Claire Furlong, fellow Innovator, Trainer and studymate.
I'm pretty excited to have been included as an Education Influencer. This gives me another way to draw upon all I have learned through my Adobe Education Leader role, Asia-Europe Foundation projects, and Google Certification and Innovator Academy work, to help other teachers in their practice. I have always believed that teachers should help one another and building global connections is a key part of that journey. I'll also be launching the Brisbane Google Global Education Group shortly so watch this space.

As an Adobe Master Teacher, I took part in a project to help build a bank of resources to help teachers as they dealt with remote learning. I wrote ten lessons, two of which you can see above. These can be found on the Adobe Education Exchange.
